My name is Spencer Cloud. I'm a software developer living in New York.

This is my site where I blog about my life and sometimes try to show off some side projects.

A Quick Bio

I was born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa. I attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska where I double majored in Spanish and Business Intelligence & Analytics. During my time at college, I spent a semester studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I interned then worked full-time at Yahoo! at their finance office in Omaha, Nebraska. I worked in the Credit and Collections department doing billing for advertisers on the platform in Argentina Search. During this time, I developed more software development skills and applied it to my job as well as working on software development project on the side.

I quit and moved to Denver, Colorado where I started Spencer Cloud Consulting and worked as a freelancer. After two years of living there and finding clients, I moved back to Argentina and worked remotely for about a year.

I returned to the US and planned to move to New York in early 2020, but the pandemic stalled those plans. I was still able to make it work later in the year.

I quit freelancing and got a job at Sports Illustrated Tickets, then was later hired by Cantor Fitzgerald where I still work today.

During my time living in New York, I've taken breaks from the city while working remotely. Often to visit family in Iowa and Colorado, but also living in France for three months and Mexico for five. I now live more permanently in Midtown after buying an apartment.
